How To Deal With Rejection

Don’t let rejection stop you from the life you’ve always wanted!

It is really easy to let the fear of rejection stop us from attempting to do the things we have always wanted. What if I fail? What if I look stupid? What if, what if, what if….

Everyone in life gets a door slammed in their face. Actually, I believe the most successful people are the ones who let multiple doors slam in their face and kept trying. Eventually a few doors opened and there you have it!

I really do believe we need to change the way we look at rejection. We should not take it so personally. Instead we should use it as feedback and a growing experience. We should ask ourselves, “what is this trying to teach me?”, “how can I grow from this experience?”.
We really do end up where we are suppose to be; so let the rest go!

Do Not Assume

If you are interested in a Life Coaching session, please email me for more information: confusedgirlinthecityla@gmail.com

Website: www.confusedgirlinthecity.com

To not assume is probably one of the most important lessons to learn in life. It was a lesson I was reminded of this week. I am starting a new relationship and I assumed something about him that wasn’t true. I ended up causing a lot of anxiety for myself and him. Lesson learned and will be happily un-assuming for a long time ;)

When we assume something about someone else, we create a false story in our head. It’s actually pretty crazy how we do this so easily and with such conviction. We create this story and then believe it to be true. We let our thoughts and ego run wild and they begin to dictate our emotions and behavior. It is important to realize this when it is happening and bring ourselves back to present moment awareness. If we are in the present moment and not off in story making land, we will have the tools we need to handle the situation.

We all come from different backgrounds and have our own unique perspective of reality. Don’t assume everyone sees and understands things the way you do. Cheers to “not” creating unnecessary drama :)

Taking Responsibility For Your Life: A Drug Trafficking Story

If you are interested in a Life Coaching session, please email me for more information: info@confusedgirlinthecity.com

Taking responsibility for our actions is one of the most important things we can do in our lives. When we do this, we take our power back. We stop blaming others for our emotional and physical state. No real change and alchemy can take place if we choose to remain victims.

The truth is, we are all going to have people hurt us and let us down; we are going to make mistakes and life is going to throw us some curve balls but it is the last of our power to decide how we are going to react.

In this video, I interview Meili Cady, a convicted felon. At a young age Meili made some bad decisions and ended up in prison for 30 days and house arrest for a year. She talks about how she took responsibility and turned a bad situation into living her dreams. For more info on Meili’s story, see the below links.

The Power of I AM

If you are interested in a Life Coaching session, please email me for more information:

This week I really began to pay attention to what I was saying to myself. How I used the phrase, “I AM”. I noticed that most of my “I AM’s”, were not only negative but down right cruel. Things I wouldn’t say to my worst enemy. “I am fat, I am stupid, I am not doing enough, I am not enough, I am lazy, I am unmotivated, I am tired” and the list goes on and on.

I was shocked how I could let this happen when I find myself to be a pretty self aware person. The negative “I AM’s” were happening completely subconsciously. Once I became aware of this, I decided that some reprogramming must take place. I was going to give myself different “I AMs” and I would repeat them in the morning when I woke up and throughout the day.

I started to say, “I am confident”, “I am beautiful”, “I am motivated”, “I am grateful”, “I am happy”. I said these phrases even if I didn’t feel them. After saying them though, I started to feel better and more uplifted because my concentration was on the positive. I was welcoming more positive into my life because of my “I AM’s”.

I was even faced with a challenging person this week that usually causes me a lot of anxiety and because of my “I AM’s”, it didn’t effect me like it usually does.

We have a lot in life against us. There are many obstacles to overcome. We must not be against ourselves. Instead, we have to be our biggest fans.
